Trade-offs, installation & data architecture
What you trade away
It is a mobile-first planner with no Novelcrafter-style model connections, Codex-grounded chat or full desktop/browser drafting environment.

Why fork Novelist instead of vibe-coding a Novelcrafter clone?
The core loop is buildable, but a dependable replacement becomes a real weekend or multi-day project. For Novelcrafter, organize a novel bible, scenes, characters, and optional bring-your-own-model drafting. The hard boundary is its mature manuscript workflow, codex structure, and community templates, plus polish, integrations, and proprietary language models.
